CULLEN JONES

Many people who know me don’t know that I grew up secretly wanting to swim in the Olympics. I used to watch the freestyle and the butterfly and be captivated. The truth is, growing up I never learned how to swim. I actually NEVER competed in sports, of any kind. I was always very musical.
I am often asked if I am a swimmer, runner, or dancer due to my body’s shape. Yet, it wasn’t till 2 years ago that I taught myself to swim.
To say that I am not a strong swimmer is an understatement. Yet after reading the article on Cullen Jones in the NY Times on Sunday and Oprah’s email about swimming, I hear the Universe speaking to me and I am inspired. No, convicted!
I am gonna, really, learn to swim. I am gonna find somewhere and dedicate myself to this goal.
Cullen may be living my childhood dream, but that won’t stop me from dreaming a new dream.

Karmen Michael is an American singer-songwriter and producer. He grew up the youngest of five children amidst the humble backdrop of Texas, where he found solace in music. Karmen has been singing and writing songs since an early age. He grew up singing in church choirs and participating in various theater productions. At age 23, Karmen moved to New York where he hit the ground running. Karmen has performed in numerous venues, worked with the legendary Manhattans, been mentored by various big names, and even interned at Atlantic Records.
